Celebrating 8 years with Avalon Brandt
This month marked Avalon Brandt’s eight years of advocacy with O’Brien Law and its predecessor firm! A Baltimore native, Ms. Brandt earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland School of Law. Ms. Brandt’s successful legal career reflects her commitment to justice, compassion for her clients, and dedication to bettering her community.
Ms. Brandt’s early legal career focused primarily on family law where her expertise and empathetic approach quickly set her apart. After shifting her focus to complex civil litigation, Ms. Brandt achieved a significant milestone in 2002, securing a jury verdict of $4.1 million in a lead poisoning trial. This marked the beginning of her long-standing commitment to representing individuals affected by childhood lead poisoning.
For more than 22 years Ms. Brandt has litigated hundreds of lead paint cases and has obtained more than $50 million in life-changing settlements for her clients. Ms. Brandt is a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum and in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, she has been recognized as a Super Lawyer. Additionally, Ms. Brandt has been admitted Pro Hac Vice in Illinois and South Carolina.
Beyond her exceptional legal skills, Ms. Brandt is well-known for her warm and collaborative attitude. She is a joy to work with, cherished by colleagues and clients alike. Ms. Brandt’s dedication to serving others extends beyond the courtroom. Since 2008, Avalon has served on the Board of Directors for L.I.F.E. Incorporated, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing housing, employment, and social activities for adults with disabilities.
